Trustees & Governance

Welcome to the Trustees & Governance page for FiveJays Dog Club. As an inclusive, progressive, and dynamic organisation, we are dedicated to ensuring that our work is supported by a modern, transparent, and robust governance structure.

What truly makes FiveJays special is our people: every single one of our Trustees, Committee members, and instructors is a volunteer, generously donating their time and expertise to support our community.

To effectively manage our activities, our structure is divided into two core bodies:

FiveJays Dog Club – (Charity & Welfare Activities) – Board of Trustees.

FiveJays Dog Training Club – (Training Activities)- Club Committee.

While each body operates with its own independent working area, financial management, and governance, they are united under the overarching FiveJays umbrella.

Transparency:

Board & Committee Meetings

Board of Trustee and Club Committee meetings are held as required by our constitution, or as directed and called by the relevant body.

While Trustee and Committee meetings are private and not open to the public, we are fully committed to transparency. In the Members Portal, you will find details of our upcoming planned meetings. If you wish to submit a question to the Board or Committee in writing ahead of a meeting, you are very welcome to do so.

We aim to publish the minutes of all meetings for members in the Members Portal as soon as they have been formally approved by the Chair of the meeting.

As well as meetings at other times, each body has two standing meetings a year:

FiveJays Dog Training Club Committee – August & February
FiveJays Dog Club Board Of Trustees – November & May
